Hello readers and Happy New Year from Kike's Closet! Better late than never, right?
I would like to introduce you to MAGNIFY magazine. MAGNIFY magazine is a fresh, new and independent lifestyle publication that explores faith, feminism and fashion, as is boldly stated on the cover of the first issue.
I was introduced to the magazine last week when I first attended my new church Jesus House, in Brent Cross, London. I was elated to hear editor in chief, and curator of the publication, Ruth Yimika Awogbade talk about her passion to inspire women, to create something that will address the issues us young Christian females go through, and to encourage them in their faith. Not only that, but what better way to grab our attention than with a fashion magazine too?!!
I was really inspired by Ruth. It's not everyday you hear someone speak so passinately about their faith, purpose and fashion all in one go, so I knew I had to grab myself a copy. I actually regret not getting more copies for friends of mine that I know would love something like this. I couldn't wait to get home and dig into the magazine, whilst sipping on a cup of tea and listening to some soft jazz. Ahh.
The first issue of MAGNIFY covers everything from identity, to relationships, business, art, culture and of course, fashion. The issue also raises some interesting questions and ideas that will really have you thinking about your faith, and simple issues that we tend to overlook. *spoiler alert* I particularly enjoyed the article titled That's Not A Compliment.
MAGNIFY magazine is just the thing us Christians have been waiting for. I urge you, whether you're a Christian or not, young or old, go grab yourself a copy; there's something in there for everyone!! The publication is a semiannual one, so expect issue 2 in June. I can't wait.
MAGNIFY magazine is currently available to purchase in the UK at the following outlets:
